initially was puzzled and felt a bit uncomfortable about why dictionary is under entertainment in my hand phone. Just feel that a treasure of mankind been ill-treated and with due respect.....

while reading 'Early Morning Rain', that reminded me not to presume things. I 'practiced' by finding the actual meaning of words that I don't quite understand. Suddenly I realise 'the joy' in finding the true meaning from the dictionary using my Ericsson HP!

I am happy I learn to examine, inquire and reflect just by reading the Introduction by Ven.Abhinyana, Beachcomber is his pen-name in this book:

Buddhism, like Science, recognises two kinds of Truth: Relative or Conventional Truth, by which we say this is a book, but only a pattern of energy, everything being composed of atoms, which are forever in motion. This motion was pointed out by the Buddha, who stated that the primary Law of Life is Change. We grow old, get sick and die because of Change; we also grow inwardly, learn, mature and understand because of Change; it is up to us to utilise Change as far as we can, instead of passively being its victims. If we cannot change it, we can at least understand it and use it to make sense of our brief tenure on Earth; we are not impotent.

One thing leads to another, in a chain-like sequence; nothing begins and ends in itself. From Understanding come Compassion and Love; we are all in the same boat, staggering along. Whatever we are able to understand of life we may share with others, perhaps making their lives a little easier and brighter. Looking back on human experience, we may conclude that it has been like a seed buried deed in the ground, struggling to germinate and force its way upwards to light that is could not see but felt was there; we have ascended and must fo on.
